Narrative:
During the approach to dtw runway 3R we selected landing flaps and noted a slight roll of the aircraft to the left. We also received an EICAS 'spoilers' message. We abandoned the approach and were vectored for another approach. During the vectors all appropriate procedures were complied with as per company manuals. We landed with 20 degrees of flaps without further incident. Maintenance revealed that the control box was reset (software) problem and the aircraft was returned to service. Supplemental information from acn 204435: uncommanded spoiler float with landing flaps. Procedure was completed. Completed logbook entry and notified dispatch.
