Narrative:
Flight X las-sfo on approach 22 mi out the copilot informed me that the flight attendant called and needed more time to put away the meal service. We slowed to 140, gear, flaps, to give them additional time. Later we heard the cabinet doors in the galley slam shut and figured everything was secure. After landing, the flight attendant informed me that she was unable to stow the cart in time. This event occurred due to a lack of communication. 'Needing more time' is vague.
