Narrative:
Approximately 8 DME from the IAF, on an intercept heading to join the localizer, TCASII reported þtfcþ followed very shortly by a RA to þclb.þ autoplt was disconnected and a climb was initiated to avoid the traffic. Advised ATC we were climbing to avoid the traffic. Controller failed to point out traffic. Once clear of conflict, descent back to assigned altitude and continued approach.
