Narrative:
After takeoff clearance and at beginning of takeoff roll, a garbled voice said (air carrier flight number). We misunderstood the voice to be a tower operator saying (air carrier flight number) hold. We aborted at less than 10 KTS. No other comment necessary.

Narrative: AFTER TKOF CLRNC AND AT BEGINNING OF TKOF ROLL, A GARBLED VOICE SAID (ACR FLT NUMBER). WE MISUNDERSTOOD THE VOICE TO BE A TWR OPERATOR SAYING (ACR FLT NUMBER) HOLD. WE ABORTED AT LESS THAN 10 KTS. NO OTHER COMMENT NECESSARY.
