Narrative:
While conducting a passenger flight on an IFR flight plan we were being radar vectored by ontario approach control. Level at 10000 ft MSL inbound to lax. Captain was flying. Conflicting traffic was seen by captain who immediately took evasive action. A 60 degree left bank was needed to avoid collision. The other aircraft was a cpr small transport. He took no evasive action. Shortly after passing clear of the traffic, ontario approach called traffic as 12 O'clock less than a mi, no altitude. No further discussion by ATC or the other aircraft was made. When we first saw the small transport he was at 12 O'clock, opposite direction, same altitude and less than 1/2 mi. Our speed was 240 KTS IAS and we were level at 10000 ft. From first recognition of the other traffic till he passed clear of us was approximately 5 seconds. We were wbound looking into a sun and haze condition. Visibility was reported on the ground as 10 mi but looking into the sun through the haze visibility was somewhat reduced.

Narrative: WHILE CONDUCTING A PAX FLT ON AN IFR FLT PLAN WE WERE BEING RADAR VECTORED BY ONTARIO APCH CTL. LEVEL AT 10000 FT MSL INBOUND TO LAX. CAPT WAS FLYING. CONFLICTING TFC WAS SEEN BY CAPT WHO IMMEDIATELY TOOK EVASIVE ACTION. A 60 DEG L BANK WAS NEEDED TO AVOID COLLISION. THE OTHER ACFT WAS A CPR SMT. HE TOOK NO EVASIVE ACTION. SHORTLY AFTER PASSING CLR OF THE TFC, ONTARIO APCH CALLED TFC AS 12 O'CLOCK LESS THAN A MI, NO ALT. NO FURTHER DISCUSSION BY ATC OR THE OTHER ACFT WAS MADE. WHEN WE FIRST SAW THE SMT HE WAS AT 12 O'CLOCK, OPPOSITE DIRECTION, SAME ALT AND LESS THAN 1/2 MI. OUR SPD WAS 240 KTS IAS AND WE WERE LEVEL AT 10000 FT. FROM FIRST RECOGNITION OF THE OTHER TFC TILL HE PASSED CLR OF US WAS APPROX 5 SECONDS. WE WERE WBOUND LOOKING INTO A SUN AND HAZE CONDITION. VISIBILITY WAS RPTED ON THE GND AS 10 MI BUT LOOKING INTO THE SUN THROUGH THE HAZE VISIBILITY WAS SOMEWHAT REDUCED.
