Narrative:
While landing on runway 1 at btv, plane 'porpoised' (bounced) twice. On second bounce, I pushed the nose of the plane down. Force of nose gear striking runway caused partial collapse of nose gear. The propeller struck but did not stop engine. I believe I had too much power while landing. When the plane 'porpoised,' I misjudged the speed and incorrectly pushed the nose down instead of pulling back. To prevent in the future, I will land with substantially less power and pull back on yoke to keep nosewheel off ground until safe speed.

Title: SMA PLT LANDS, ACFT PORPOISES. NEXT LNDG PUSHES NOSE FORWARD. NOSE GEAR COLLAPSES.
Narrative: WHILE LNDG ON RWY 1 AT BTV, PLANE 'PORPOISED' (BOUNCED) TWICE. ON SECOND BOUNCE, I PUSHED THE NOSE OF THE PLANE DOWN. FORCE OF NOSE GEAR STRIKING RWY CAUSED PARTIAL COLLAPSE OF NOSE GEAR. THE PROP STRUCK BUT DID NOT STOP ENG. I BELIEVE I HAD TOO MUCH PWR WHILE LNDG. WHEN THE PLANE 'PORPOISED,' I MISJUDGED THE SPD AND INCORRECTLY PUSHED THE NOSE DOWN INSTEAD OF PULLING BACK. TO PREVENT IN THE FUTURE, I WILL LAND WITH SUBSTANTIALLY LESS PWR AND PULL BACK ON YOKE TO KEEP NOSEWHEEL OFF GND UNTIL SAFE SPD.
