Narrative:

Received 2 RA's on TCASII within 7 mins. First RA was when we were level at 9000 ft. Conflict was indicated to be 100 ft above our aircraft, never attained visual contact. Second conflict was with climbing traffic climbing through our altitude (8000 ft). Both RA's commanded 'descend.' visual confirmation of second RA was attained at 1/4 mi and less than 200 ft above us. Queried ARTCC as to either conflict was indicated on their radar. Answer was no to the first RA, yes to the second RA. Our flight crew was perturbed with the lack of advisories and we expressed that to the controller. Controller subsequently began calling all VFR traffic which was obviously not a conflict to us. In short, the subsequent overkill of TA's did not make up for failing to advise us of the more serious conflicts.

Title: AN MDT ACR HAD 2 TCASII RA'S WITHIN 7 MINS WITH NO ADVISORY FROM ATC.

Narrative: RECEIVED 2 RA'S ON TCASII WITHIN 7 MINS. FIRST RA WAS WHEN WE WERE LEVEL AT 9000 FT. CONFLICT WAS INDICATED TO BE 100 FT ABOVE OUR ACFT, NEVER ATTAINED VISUAL CONTACT. SECOND CONFLICT WAS WITH CLBING TFC CLBING THROUGH OUR ALT (8000 FT). BOTH RA'S COMMANDED 'DSND.' VISUAL CONFIRMATION OF SECOND RA WAS ATTAINED AT 1/4 MI AND LESS THAN 200 FT ABOVE US. QUERIED ARTCC AS TO EITHER CONFLICT WAS INDICATED ON THEIR RADAR. ANSWER WAS NO TO THE FIRST RA, YES TO THE SECOND RA. OUR FLC WAS PERTURBED WITH THE LACK OF ADVISORIES AND WE EXPRESSED THAT TO THE CTLR. CTLR SUBSEQUENTLY BEGAN CALLING ALL VFR TFC WHICH WAS OBVIOUSLY NOT A CONFLICT TO US. IN SHORT, THE SUBSEQUENT OVERKILL OF TA'S DID NOT MAKE UP FOR FAILING TO ADVISE US OF THE MORE SERIOUS CONFLICTS.
