Narrative:
On takeoff, normal engine indications to 80 KIAS. Then bang and vibration. Takeoff rejected. Taxied off runway. Called equipment. #1 engine higher egt at idle than #2. Tower reported sparks and smoke out of that engine. Shutdown. Taxi to gate after inspection from emergency equipment with no further incident. Maintenance at gate reported fan blade failure.
