Narrative:
Taxiing at den from runway to 'east' gates can be confusing. Ground control directs you somewhat vaguely to 'the black line' where you then contact 'echo control.' they simply tell you to stay left or right. The confusion arises because there are 4 painted lines along the route -- red, purple, yellow and red. For those of us who don't get to den too often, it would be helpful if instructions were given visibility-a-visibility the painted lines. Simply saying 'stay to the right' might result in others taxiing to the hangars instead of the gate as we did.

Title: AN MLG BECAME DISORIENTED BY THE TAXI LINES AT DEN.
Narrative: TAXIING AT DEN FROM RWY TO 'E' GATES CAN BE CONFUSING. GND CTL DIRECTS YOU SOMEWHAT VAGUELY TO 'THE BLACK LINE' WHERE YOU THEN CONTACT 'ECHO CTL.' THEY SIMPLY TELL YOU TO STAY L OR R. THE CONFUSION ARISES BECAUSE THERE ARE 4 PAINTED LINES ALONG THE RTE -- RED, PURPLE, YELLOW AND RED. FOR THOSE OF US WHO DON'T GET TO DEN TOO OFTEN, IT WOULD BE HELPFUL IF INSTRUCTIONS WERE GIVEN VIS-A-VIS THE PAINTED LINES. SIMPLY SAYING 'STAY TO THE R' MIGHT RESULT IN OTHERS TAXIING TO THE HANGARS INSTEAD OF THE GATE AS WE DID.
