Narrative:
I would like to address a concern with a particular approach and GPWS warnings. I flew into and out of cvg for the month of aug and flew the ILS 18L approach (in visual conditions) numerous times. On this particular approach, the banks of the oh river rise steeply toward the airport. On more than half of our approachs we had the GPWS warning go off at about 7-800 ft AGL due to the rising terrain even though we were on GS. Had we been in IMC conditions we would have had to execute a needless missed approach. Our companies fleet has 2 different GPWS system, and both caused GPWS warnings. The question I have -- is this nuisance warning only specific to this aircraft, or do all aircraft receive this warning on this particular approach? This runway is brand new at cvg. I have alerted both company and alpa safety department officials. I would be interested in knowing if this is the first report of such an occurrence.
