Narrative:

Departed mkc en route to cid. All went well till on approach to cid. Made first approach on ILS 9 cid. When approach said they did not know if approach lights were right or not. Never saw lights. Went missed approach, second approach was well but I was too fixed on worrying about approach lights working and let myself get disoriented looking for them and settled in short of runway.

Narrative: DEPARTED MKC ENRTE TO CID. ALL WENT WELL TILL ON APCH TO CID. MADE FIRST APCH ON ILS 9 CID. WHEN APCH SAID THEY DID NOT KNOW IF APCH LIGHTS WERE RIGHT OR NOT. NEVER SAW LIGHTS. WENT MISSED APCH, SECOND APCH WAS WELL BUT I WAS TOO FIXED ON WORRYING ABOUT APCH LIGHTS WORKING AND LET MYSELF GET DISORIENTED LOOKING FOR THEM AND SETTLED IN SHORT OF RWY.
