Narrative:
While cruising at 8000 ft, ZOB advised of VFR traffic at 11 O'clock, 3 mi. Simultaneously, our TCASII TA turned to an RA to 'climb.' in accordance, a climb was initiated and ATC informed. Traffic passed directly under with a vertical separation of about 800 ft. We returned to 8000 ft and advised ATC. Supplemental information from acn 229320: vertical separation was about 800 ft. This included a 500 ft climb by our aircraft to 8500 ft MSL.
