Narrative:
While being vectored in IMC for ILS 02R at bna, GPWS/terrain warning occurred, first officer flying. Immediately initiated a climb until warning ceased. Leveled at 3500 ft MSL. Captain notified ATC of alert and altitude change. ATC thought we were responding to a TCASII RA. Captain confirmed it was a GPWS/terrain warning and correctly verified altimeter settings. Radio altimeter indicated approximately 1600 ft AGL. Approach was continued to an uneventful landing. Note: on subsequent approach in VFR conditions, crew noticed hill with microwave antenna in the same area as previous GPWS alert.
