Narrative:
As we started our takeoff roll in the medium large transport aircraft, the takeoff warning horn sounded. We did a quick check of the items known to cause the horn hoping to continue the takeoff. Unable to silence horn we aborted at about 60-70 KTS. After clearing runway further inquiry discovered flaps were set to position 1 degree. We had computed takeoff speeds and bugs were set for a flaps 5 degrees takeoff. In fact, our aircraft model aircraft are not currently approved for a flaps 1 degree takeoff. As the first officer of the flight, I positioned the flap lever to position 1 degree after engine start. Neither the captain nor myself caught the error during the before takeoff checklist as we should have. After the abort (very little braking) we taxied back and made a normal flaps 5 degrees takeoff followed by an uneventful flight to smf.

Title: FLC OF ACR MLG ACFT ABORTED TKOF DUE THE WRONG TKOF FLAP SETTING.
Narrative: AS WE STARTED OUR TKOF ROLL IN THE MLG ACFT, THE TKOF WARNING HORN SOUNDED. WE DID A QUICK CHK OF THE ITEMS KNOWN TO CAUSE THE HORN HOPING TO CONTINUE THE TKOF. UNABLE TO SILENCE HORN WE ABORTED AT ABOUT 60-70 KTS. AFTER CLRING RWY FURTHER INQUIRY DISCOVERED FLAPS WERE SET TO POS 1 DEG. WE HAD COMPUTED TKOF SPDS AND BUGS WERE SET FOR A FLAPS 5 DEGS TKOF. IN FACT, OUR ACFT MODEL ACFT ARE NOT CURRENTLY APPROVED FOR A FLAPS 1 DEG TKOF. AS THE FO OF THE FLT, I POSITIONED THE FLAP LEVER TO POS 1 DEG AFTER ENG START. NEITHER THE CAPT NOR MYSELF CAUGHT THE ERROR DURING THE BEFORE TKOF CHKLIST AS WE SHOULD HAVE. AFTER THE ABORT (VERY LITTLE BRAKING) WE TAXIED BACK AND MADE A NORMAL FLAPS 5 DEGS TKOF FOLLOWED BY AN UNEVENTFUL FLT TO SMF.
