Narrative:

We were filed as air carrier flight X4Y from pit-btv. We obtained an incorrect clearance for flight X2Y (pit-roc). The clearance was obtained via ACARS/pre-departure clearance. We did not discover the error until right after takeoff when departure told us the correct squawk. We then confirmed our correct routing to btv with cleveland center. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the captain reporter believes that his first officer asked for the wrong trip number through ACARS, a 2 vice 4, so that the wrong flight plan was sent to the aircraft. As pit does not have aircraft check in on ground control with their squawk, there is no way that either ATC or the aircraft can tell if the loop is fully closed. The first officer was an expectant father and was making more than 1 mistake. Also, it was dark out. As the initial departure routing is the same for both pit-roc and pit-btv, there was no traffic conflict.

Title: AN ACR MLG RECEIVED A PREDEP CLRNC FOR THE WRONG FLT. THIS WAS NOT NOTICED UNTIL AFTER TKOF.

Narrative: WE WERE FILED AS ACR FLT X4Y FROM PIT-BTV. WE OBTAINED AN INCORRECT CLRNC FOR FLT X2Y (PIT-ROC). THE CLRNC WAS OBTAINED VIA ACARS/PRE-DEP CLRNC. WE DID NOT DISCOVER THE ERROR UNTIL RIGHT AFTER TKOF WHEN DEP TOLD US THE CORRECT SQUAWK. WE THEN CONFIRMED OUR CORRECT ROUTING TO BTV WITH CLEVELAND CTR. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE CAPT RPTR BELIEVES THAT HIS FO ASKED FOR THE WRONG TRIP NUMBER THROUGH ACARS, A 2 VICE 4, SO THAT THE WRONG FLT PLAN WAS SENT TO THE ACFT. AS PIT DOES NOT HAVE ACFT CHK IN ON GND CTL WITH THEIR SQUAWK, THERE IS NO WAY THAT EITHER ATC OR THE ACFT CAN TELL IF THE LOOP IS FULLY CLOSED. THE FO WAS AN EXPECTANT FATHER AND WAS MAKING MORE THAN 1 MISTAKE. ALSO, IT WAS DARK OUT. AS THE INITIAL DEP ROUTING IS THE SAME FOR BOTH PIT-ROC AND PIT-BTV, THERE WAS NO TFC CONFLICT.
