Narrative:

Departed out of pkb airport runway 21, left climbing turn to an assigned altitude of 3000 (expect 9000 later). After takeoff and prior to a left turn, tower controller stated 'watch for traffic entering left downwind.' expedited climb in order to climb above pattern altitude. TCASII showed multiple targets (3-4 targets within a 2 NM radius). Started left turn. Approximately 3 NM from field, (east to northeast of field),2 targets appeared at 12 O'clock at same altitude. TCASII stated (TA) 'traffic, traffic.' then TCASII issued an RA 'monitor vertical speed.' altitude at this time was climbing through 2800 ft. So, we continued climb to comply with RA. Cleared traffic, and at this point we were in contact with ZID 125.55. We were nose down and out of 3600 ft (MSL) and descending to our assigned altitude of 3000. At this point ZID told us 'climb to 9000.' this was our first radio contact with ZID. The controller then handed us over to ZOB.

Title: FLC OF LTT ACR ACFT OVERSHOT CLB ALT RESPONDING TO A TCASII RA.

Narrative: DEPARTED OUT OF PKB ARPT RWY 21, L CLBING TURN TO AN ASSIGNED ALT OF 3000 (EXPECT 9000 LATER). AFTER TKOF AND PRIOR TO A L TURN, TWR CTLR STATED 'WATCH FOR TFC ENTERING L DOWNWIND.' EXPEDITED CLB IN ORDER TO CLB ABOVE PATTERN ALT. TCASII SHOWED MULTIPLE TARGETS (3-4 TARGETS WITHIN A 2 NM RADIUS). STARTED L TURN. APPROX 3 NM FROM FIELD, (E TO NE OF FIELD),2 TARGETS APPEARED AT 12 O'CLOCK AT SAME ALT. TCASII STATED (TA) 'TFC, TFC.' THEN TCASII ISSUED AN RA 'MONITOR VERT SPD.' ALT AT THIS TIME WAS CLBING THROUGH 2800 FT. SO, WE CONTINUED CLB TO COMPLY WITH RA. CLRED TFC, AND AT THIS POINT WE WERE IN CONTACT WITH ZID 125.55. WE WERE NOSE DOWN AND OUT OF 3600 FT (MSL) AND DSNDING TO OUR ASSIGNED ALT OF 3000. AT THIS POINT ZID TOLD US 'CLB TO 9000.' THIS WAS OUR FIRST RADIO CONTACT WITH ZID. THE CTLR THEN HANDED US OVER TO ZOB.
