Narrative:

Approach control called traffic at 12 O'clock, 10 mi, 1000 ft below us. Aircraft was not sighted but appeared on our TCASII at 900 ft below us. We watched TCASII presentation but could not pick up the aircraft visually. His altitude varied from 900 ft to 700 ft below us and closing. Our TCASII announced a 'climb' RA as he approached. I disconnected the autoplt and followed the RA. At approximately 500 ft above our assigned altitude the TCASII announced 'clear of conflict' and I returned to 7000 ft assigned. We reported the RA to msp approach, and they reported that he was at 6000 ft.
