Narrative:
On arrival to bur, ATC called traffic ahead at 11500 ft and descending. We were at 11000 ft. Told ATC to 'vector us around him.' ATC issued immediate 30 degree right turn which we did. We spotted him on TCASII at 11300 ft and descending at 12 O'clock position. Did not have him visually. Received TCASII RA 'climb, climb.' we followed RA and climbed to 11500 ft. Notified center. He asked if we were responding to a TCASII RA. We said 'affirmative.' at 11500 ft we visually saw small aircraft aircraft pass off at our 8 O'clock position at 11000 ft. We returned to 11000 ft and continued to burbank.
