Narrative:
Flight jul/xx/93, last leg of pairing, a flight attendant sought to get another flight attendant to work her last leg. It apparently failed on her first attempt. Just prior to door closing, the first flight attendant came into the cockpit and said one of the flight attendant's had traded with another flight attendant who was commuting to iah and that she was retired, therefore not current and qualified. It was later discovered she never worked for air carrier, but for another carrier. She indicated the legal flight attendant approached her to work the last leg and gave her a uniform. We did not close and push until a legal flight attendant was found. The flight was considerably late.
