Narrative:
Crossing altitude 40 north lal at 13000 ft. I entered in the FMC reciprocal crossing altitude (40 south lal at 13000 ft). I was observing WX at 12 O'clock position and trying to judge descent on the other side of WX. ATC asked us if we were going to make the crossing altitude. We were at FL260 at 48 north of lal. We informed them we were unable. They (ATC) gave us a turn and we continued to 13000 ft. No known conflict.
