Narrative:
On takeoff roll from fll runway 9L, when power was set, the right engine failed to develop the required torque of 80.1 percent. The peak torque observed on the right engine was approximately 75 percent -- prior to aborting the takeoff. The takeoff was aborted normally and the aircraft was returned to gate with no further eventuality. Performance runs were conducted with the cooperation of local contract maintenance and they confirmed that torque indications were abnormal. I believe that the crew acted properly in this incident.

Title: R ENG FAILED TO DEVELOP TKOF PWR. TKOF ABORTED.
Narrative: ON TKOF ROLL FROM FLL RWY 9L, WHEN PWR WAS SET, THE R ENG FAILED TO DEVELOP THE REQUIRED TORQUE OF 80.1 PERCENT. THE PEAK TORQUE OBSERVED ON THE R ENG WAS APPROX 75 PERCENT -- PRIOR TO ABORTING THE TKOF. THE TKOF WAS ABORTED NORMALLY AND THE ACFT WAS RETURNED TO GATE WITH NO FURTHER EVENTUALITY. PERFORMANCE RUNS WERE CONDUCTED WITH THE COOPERATION OF LCL CONTRACT MAINT AND THEY CONFIRMED THAT TORQUE INDICATIONS WERE ABNORMAL. I BELIEVE THAT THE CREW ACTED PROPERLY IN THIS INCIDENT.
