Narrative:

Nearing top of descent into austin, tx, the flight attendant notified me of an apparent case of acute appendicitis onboard. We summoned a doctor who concurred we should continue to aus. We flew direct at maximum speed, exceeding 250 KIAS below 10000 ft. We successfully passed patient to aus paramedics in stable condition. I entered in the logbook the opening of the 'first aid kit' by the doctor and later found out it had been the 'medical kit.' (the doctor had only used the blood pressure equipment which was replaced and the kit closed.) I then continued the aircraft per MEL 25-8. This was correct although my entry was incorrect ('first aid kit' would have been MEL 25-7). My company trained us on the new 'medical kit' but I did not realize we now have both types onboard. Dispatch just threw 25-8 at me and I didn't even see 25-7 until later when researching. Silly isn't it! Successfully conclude an emergency and spend time sweating what the little stuff will cost you.
