Narrative:

On an IFR training flight from ftw to act to tyr to ftw. From tyr to ftw, I decided to cancel IFR and proceed VFR to rockwall, tx (F46). I had overridden the emergency gear extension system to perform slow flight and then proceeded to clean aircraft up to go land at F46. I had a difficult time locating the airport and, once the airport was in sight, we were on final. My concentration was on teaching the student crosswind landing procedures, not complex aircraft operations. We both had forgotten to extend the gear. There is a gear warning horn which is supposed to sound and show a light when extension system is overridden. This warning light and horn were apparently inoperative as we continued the approach and landed the aircraft with gear up.
