Narrative:
Landed at mdt runway 13, normal landing. While taxiing back to the terminal on echo taxiway, believe left wingtip grazed the top of snowbank even though on the centerline of taxiway. Snow apparently plowed off ramp/txwys to an area between echo taxiway and runway, has a depth higher than the md-80 wing ht clearance. The ht of snow is generally low enough for most acrs but rises to a ht which just touches wingtip at one point along route back to the terminal. There was no damage to this aircraft and it departed next day on schedule. This incident was very disconcerting and I believe the airport has regulations for snow removal, depth along runways, txwys, etc., that are not being followed. As a captain, you operate under certain assumptions. There are plenty of other hazards to be watchful for, without the concern for snow depth on parallel txwys. There were no warnings of high snow adjacent to txwys in the ATIS report prior to our landing.

Title: MLG HAS WINGTIP GRAZE SNOW BANK DURING TAXI.
Narrative: LANDED AT MDT RWY 13, NORMAL LNDG. WHILE TAXIING BACK TO THE TERMINAL ON ECHO TXWY, BELIEVE L WINGTIP GRAZED THE TOP OF SNOWBANK EVEN THOUGH ON THE CTRLINE OF TXWY. SNOW APPARENTLY PLOWED OFF RAMP/TXWYS TO AN AREA BTWN ECHO TXWY AND RWY, HAS A DEPTH HIGHER THAN THE MD-80 WING HT CLRNC. THE HT OF SNOW IS GENERALLY LOW ENOUGH FOR MOST ACRS BUT RISES TO A HT WHICH JUST TOUCHES WINGTIP AT ONE POINT ALONG RTE BACK TO THE TERMINAL. THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO THIS ACFT AND IT DEPARTED NEXT DAY ON SCHEDULE. THIS INCIDENT WAS VERY DISCONCERTING AND I BELIEVE THE ARPT HAS REGS FOR SNOW REMOVAL, DEPTH ALONG RWYS, TXWYS, ETC., THAT ARE NOT BEING FOLLOWED. AS A CAPT, YOU OPERATE UNDER CERTAIN ASSUMPTIONS. THERE ARE PLENTY OF OTHER HAZARDS TO BE WATCHFUL FOR, WITHOUT THE CONCERN FOR SNOW DEPTH ON PARALLEL TXWYS. THERE WERE NO WARNINGS OF HIGH SNOW ADJACENT TO TXWYS IN THE ATIS RPT PRIOR TO OUR LNDG.
