Narrative:
During taxi in, while under the gate mechanic's taxi directions, the left wingtip contacted a food truck. I did not observe the food truck in the safety zone until the aircraft lurched. I stopped although the mechanic did not signal a stop. I found the truck in my safety zone after it was out of my line of sight.

Title: MLG WINGTIP STRIKES FOOD TRUCK WHILE PARKING AT SFO.
Narrative: DURING TAXI IN, WHILE UNDER THE GATE MECH'S TAXI DIRECTIONS, THE L WINGTIP CONTACTED A FOOD TRUCK. I DID NOT OBSERVE THE FOOD TRUCK IN THE SAFETY ZONE UNTIL THE ACFT LURCHED. I STOPPED ALTHOUGH THE MECH DID NOT SIGNAL A STOP. I FOUND THE TRUCK IN MY SAFETY ZONE AFTER IT WAS OUT OF MY LINE OF SIGHT.
