At 9000 ft (approximately) approach cleared us for visual approach. Captain flying. We were on downwind only 6-7 DME from airport. Captain extended gear and flaps, made rapid descent, used 45-50 degree left banks, set off 'terrain' warning on GPWS, overshot final and continued maneuvering to attempt landing. He made it.
