Narrative:
Evv ATIS unusable. The new ATIS frequency for evv (120.25) appears to be in conflict with the ATIS of (apparently) luk airport rendering both useless at high altitudes (above 10000 ft). We inquired about it on the ground at evv and the controller appeared quite frustrated about the inaction in regards to a fix. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following: evv tower supervisor stated the frequency at evv ATIS has been changed back to frequency 120.2. ATIS frequency overlap interference has been solved.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: ATIS FREQ OVERLAP.
Narrative: EVV ATIS UNUSABLE. THE NEW ATIS FREQ FOR EVV (120.25) APPEARS TO BE IN CONFLICT WITH THE ATIS OF (APPARENTLY) LUK ARPT RENDERING BOTH USELESS AT HIGH ALTS (ABOVE 10000 FT). WE INQUIRED ABOUT IT ON THE GND AT EVV AND THE CTLR APPEARED QUITE FRUSTRATED ABOUT THE INACTION IN REGARDS TO A FIX. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH REPORTER REVEALED THE FOLLOWING: EVV TWR SUPVR STATED THE FREQ AT EVV ATIS HAS BEEN CHANGED BACK TO FREQ 120.2. ATIS FREQ OVERLAP INTERFERENCE HAS BEEN SOLVED.
