Narrative:
Flying at cruise we noticed that the frequency 132.32 was quiet for a while so we called center. Found out we had a stuck microphone controller had to move other aircraft to another frequency, but said he had no traffic conflict. Later, we checked microphone and it was bad. It would not unkey. We switched mikes to fix problem. Contributing factor: 1/2 of our aircraft have no way to defeat the squelch to listen to speaker when no one is talking. The aircraft had no squelch control switch on other aircraft with squelch I always check when frequency is not busy. Supplemental information from acn 268938: 1 contributing factor was we had no squelch mode on our radios to check for open frequencys.
