Narrative:

Flight was in the departure phase on may/xx/94 when an airlines commuter flight called traffic to departure control. We had the commuter flight in sight, but did not see the other traffic at that point. They expanded on the traffic report saying it appeared to be a motorized hangglider. Almost immediately we saw the traffic at 12-1 O'clock closing rapidly. We took evasive action immediately. As it passed, it indeed appeared to be an unpwred hang glider that was 10500-11000 ft. The evasive action required approximately a 25 degree left bank and an increase in the rate of climb. The red and yellow hang glider passed less than .25 mi to our right. Without the extended maneuver, I feel we would have hit the glider. After the incident, we had many questions such as, how did the vehicle get there, why was he there, etc. We will probably never know the answers. Thanks for the visual callout, they are still imperative.
