Narrative:
A visual approach was being conducted using an initial steep rate of descent. As the GS was being captured on short final, the ground proximity began saying 'sink rate, pull up, pull up' continuously with very loud volume. It continued till touchdown and could not be canceled. The volume was so loud, passenger in the back of the plane heard it and communication between myself and the first officer was impossible. Concentrating on landing was difficult. I believe this new device (for part 135) is hazardous as installed and should be toned down before it someday incapacitates a flight crew during an emergency.

Title: FLC WERE DISTRACTED DURING A STEEP VISUAL APCH DUE TO THE NOISE OF THE GPWS.
Narrative: A VISUAL APCH WAS BEING CONDUCTED USING AN INITIAL STEEP RATE OF DSCNT. AS THE GS WAS BEING CAPTURED ON SHORT FINAL, THE GND PROX BEGAN SAYING 'SINK RATE, PULL UP, PULL UP' CONTINUOUSLY WITH VERY LOUD VOLUME. IT CONTINUED TILL TOUCHDOWN AND COULD NOT BE CANCELED. THE VOLUME WAS SO LOUD, PAX IN THE BACK OF THE PLANE HEARD IT AND COM BTWN MYSELF AND THE FO WAS IMPOSSIBLE. CONCENTRATING ON LNDG WAS DIFFICULT. I BELIEVE THIS NEW DEVICE (FOR PART 135) IS HAZARDOUS AS INSTALLED AND SHOULD BE TONED DOWN BEFORE IT SOMEDAY INCAPACITATES A FLC DURING AN EMER.
