Narrative:
Air carrier X was mht-phl. Route: direct cam alb dny lhy lvz V-147 mazie phl. This was the filed and cleared route. From takeoff to landing there were at least 30 events. (Turn right 20 degrees for traffic, slow to minimum speed, accelerate to 310 KTS, slow to 280 KTS, slow to 250 KTS, accelerate to 310 KTS, cross 30 northeast of alb at FL240, cross lvz at 14000 ft, turn right 20 degrees, cleared direct to dny, cleared direct to lvz, cleared direct etx, cleared direct to mazie). The route was a zigzag in the vicinity of the planned and cleared route. There was 1 leg out of etx, V-147 where we were finally expected to fly the route and due to a cockpit distraction, I missed the turn. We were 3 south of etx when the controller caught it and gave us a vector to course. This is a constant problem in the northeast corridor and can be corrected by more adherence to our scheduled route.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: ACR X NON ADHERENCE TO ATC CLRNC.
Narrative: ACR X WAS MHT-PHL. RTE: DIRECT CAM ALB DNY LHY LVZ V-147 MAZIE PHL. THIS WAS THE FILED AND CLRED RTE. FROM TKOF TO LNDG THERE WERE AT LEAST 30 EVENTS. (TURN R 20 DEGS FOR TFC, SLOW TO MINIMUM SPD, ACCELERATE TO 310 KTS, SLOW TO 280 KTS, SLOW TO 250 KTS, ACCELERATE TO 310 KTS, CROSS 30 NE OF ALB AT FL240, CROSS LVZ AT 14000 FT, TURN R 20 DEGS, CLRED DIRECT TO DNY, CLRED DIRECT TO LVZ, CLRED DIRECT ETX, CLRED DIRECT TO MAZIE). THE RTE WAS A ZIGZAG IN THE VICINITY OF THE PLANNED AND CLRED RTE. THERE WAS 1 LEG OUT OF ETX, V-147 WHERE WE WERE FINALLY EXPECTED TO FLY THE RTE AND DUE TO A COCKPIT DISTR, I MISSED THE TURN. WE WERE 3 S OF ETX WHEN THE CTLR CAUGHT IT AND GAVE US A VECTOR TO COURSE. THIS IS A CONSTANT PROB IN THE NE CORRIDOR AND CAN BE CORRECTED BY MORE ADHERENCE TO OUR SCHEDULED RTE.
