Narrative:

I did not hear ground control's taxi instruction and my copilot did not understand them, but, thought I did. We taxied onto the approach end of runway 30R and were instructed to hold position. We did so. The approach end of the runway is directly connected to the ramp and not clearly marked. We continued taxi to runway 34. The hold short for runway 34 is not clearly marked either and a runway incursion is also a risk. The pwk airport has no red runway signs. When we taxied to runway 34 there was an aircraft at the runup pad (position #1). Taxiing on alpha it would be easy to taxi onto runway 34 in order to position next to an aircraft at position #1. There are no red runway signs.
