Narrative:
After making visual contact with a cherokee on left and king air on right excepted a clearance to cross budde FAF at 3000 ft MSL and cleared ILS/visual runway 8 burbank. Apparently the clearance was for a different aircraft but nothing was said to us after our readback of the clearance. Similar call signs have always been a problem and I was overdue to descend for the approach apparently causing me to grab the clearance and causing the confusion.

Narrative: AFTER MAKING VISUAL CONTACT WITH A CHEROKEE ON L AND KING AIR ON R EXCEPTED A CLRNC TO CROSS BUDDE FAF AT 3000 FT MSL AND CLRED ILS/VISUAL RWY 8 BURBANK. APPARENTLY THE CLRNC WAS FOR A DIFFERENT ACFT BUT NOTHING WAS SAID TO US AFTER OUR READBACK OF THE CLRNC. SIMILAR CALL SIGNS HAVE ALWAYS BEEN A PROB AND I WAS OVERDUE TO DSND FOR THE APCH APPARENTLY CAUSING ME TO GRAB THE CLRNC AND CAUSING THE CONFUSION.
