Narrative:
I rented an aircraft from locale FBO for x-state trip. Since I don't do this very frequently I involved myself with a thorough preflight of the aircraft and running the checklists. After takeoff and in cruise on first leg I noticed a small paper affixed to dash board that stated do not fly this aircraft per FAA after such and such a time. I looked down at the hobbs meter and realized I was the lucky renter to take the aircraft past the time prescribed by the FAA.
