Narrative:
SID for departure at ont has altitude climb restr at dom VOR of 8000 ft. Controller gave clearance to 14000 ft. We climbed to that altitude and missed climb restr in SID. Possibly controllers should give climb clearance to high performance aircraft, to the limits of SID and not to higher levels.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: LTT FLC CLBS ABOVE RESTR ALT ON SID.
Narrative: SID FOR DEP AT ONT HAS ALT CLB RESTR AT DOM VOR OF 8000 FT. CTLR GAVE CLRNC TO 14000 FT. WE CLBED TO THAT ALT AND MISSED CLB RESTR IN SID. POSSIBLY CTLRS SHOULD GIVE CLB CLRNC TO HIGH PERFORMANCE ACFT, TO THE LIMITS OF SID AND NOT TO HIGHER LEVELS.
