Narrative:

To the best of my knowledge, I forgot to get clearance. On takeoff, a squawk was issued. At once we realized our mistake. We verified our route with ATC. It matched our release flight plan. We proceeded normally. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter is a captain on the F-100. Although he had a different first officer on each trip, he is not on reserve. At the time of the incident, the reporter had not flown with this first officer ever before, but the reporter does not think that this had anything to do with the incident. The first officer was late and in a hurry when he got to the aircraft. The reporter agreed 'to do the cockpit' for the first officer. The reporter admits that he forgot to get the airways clearance. This would have been done via ACARS. The first notion that there was no clearance was when a squawk was issued after takeoff. The reporter believes that ATC had no notion that the crew had no airways clearance.

Title: TKOF WITHOUT AIRWAYS CLRNC.

Narrative: TO THE BEST OF MY KNOWLEDGE, I FORGOT TO GET CLRNC. ON TKOF, A SQUAWK WAS ISSUED. AT ONCE WE REALIZED OUR MISTAKE. WE VERIFIED OUR RTE WITH ATC. IT MATCHED OUR RELEASE FLT PLAN. WE PROCEEDED NORMALLY. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE RPTR IS A CAPT ON THE F-100. ALTHOUGH HE HAD A DIFFERENT FO ON EACH TRIP, HE IS NOT ON RESERVE. AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT, THE RPTR HAD NOT FLOWN WITH THIS FO EVER BEFORE, BUT THE RPTR DOES NOT THINK THAT THIS HAD ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE INCIDENT. THE FO WAS LATE AND IN A HURRY WHEN HE GOT TO THE ACFT. THE RPTR AGREED 'TO DO THE COCKPIT' FOR THE FO. THE RPTR ADMITS THAT HE FORGOT TO GET THE AIRWAYS CLRNC. THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN DONE VIA ACARS. THE FIRST NOTION THAT THERE WAS NO CLRNC WAS WHEN A SQUAWK WAS ISSUED AFTER TKOF. THE RPTR BELIEVES THAT ATC HAD NO NOTION THAT THE CREW HAD NO AIRWAYS CLRNC.
