Narrative:
Arrival into sna, FMS east side in VNAV failed to capture 8000 ft at kayoh intersection. We had high sink rate because we were kept high by approach control. Altitude went slightly below 8000 ft. Had to use vertical speed to reacquire 8000 ft. Nothing was said of a conflict by approach control.

Narrative: ARR INTO SNA, FMS E SIDE IN VNAV FAILED TO CAPTURE 8000 FT AT KAYOH INTXN. WE HAD HIGH SINK RATE BECAUSE WE WERE KEPT HIGH BY APCH CTL. ALT WENT SLIGHTLY BELOW 8000 FT. HAD TO USE VERT SPD TO REACQUIRE 8000 FT. NOTHING WAS SAID OF A CONFLICT BY APCH CTL.
