Narrative:
Descent to cross symon intersection at 12000 ft initiated too late to comply with restr. While trying to determine why we did not comply with restr, I initiated the left turn to smo late. No traffic conflicts occurred and ATC did not advise of or mention any problems.

Narrative: DSCNT TO CROSS SYMON INTXN AT 12000 FT INITIATED TOO LATE TO COMPLY WITH RESTR. WHILE TRYING TO DETERMINE WHY WE DID NOT COMPLY WITH RESTR, I INITIATED THE L TURN TO SMO LATE. NO TFC CONFLICTS OCCURRED AND ATC DID NOT ADVISE OF OR MENTION ANY PROBS.
