Narrative:

Taxiing to gate in sea being led in by ground personnel. Following his instructions he had me stop, then start up again with a 45 degree turn to the right, we did not know it at the time but this must have been when we hit another aircraft parked next to us. Just a navigation light had to be replaced on my aircraft but the wingtip had to be replaced on the other aircraft. A contributing factor was that I could not see out my side window due to raindrops and a very bright light facing me. This made the side view obscured. After talking to the ground crew I learned that parking 2 B757 aircraft next to each other just started that night and I was the first. The station manager insisted that it would be done this way, disregarding the warnings of the ground crew that it would be dangerous. Supplemental information from acn 320570: other aircraft was not positioned correctly by station personnel. In my opinion the primary cause of this incident was the incorrect position of the other aircraft by the sea station manager. Also, the personnel parking the aircraft only had one set of hand wands. The wing walker had none. (Incident occurred at night.)

Title: AN ACR B757'S WINGTIP STRUCK ANOTHER B757'S WINGTIP DURING GATE PARKING PROC. 2 ACFT DAMAGED.

Narrative: TAXIING TO GATE IN SEA BEING LED IN BY GND PERSONNEL. FOLLOWING HIS INSTRUCTIONS HE HAD ME STOP, THEN START UP AGAIN WITH A 45 DEG TURN TO THE R, WE DID NOT KNOW IT AT THE TIME BUT THIS MUST HAVE BEEN WHEN WE HIT ANOTHER ACFT PARKED NEXT TO US. JUST A NAV LIGHT HAD TO BE REPLACED ON MY ACFT BUT THE WINGTIP HAD TO BE REPLACED ON THE OTHER ACFT. A CONTRIBUTING FACTOR WAS THAT I COULD NOT SEE OUT MY SIDE WINDOW DUE TO RAINDROPS AND A VERY BRIGHT LIGHT FACING ME. THIS MADE THE SIDE VIEW OBSCURED. AFTER TALKING TO THE GND CREW I LEARNED THAT PARKING 2 B757 ACFT NEXT TO EACH OTHER JUST STARTED THAT NIGHT AND I WAS THE FIRST. THE STATION MGR INSISTED THAT IT WOULD BE DONE THIS WAY, DISREGARDING THE WARNINGS OF THE GND CREW THAT IT WOULD BE DANGEROUS. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 320570: OTHER ACFT WAS NOT POSITIONED CORRECTLY BY STATION PERSONNEL. IN MY OPINION THE PRIMARY CAUSE OF THIS INCIDENT WAS THE INCORRECT POS OF THE OTHER ACFT BY THE SEA STATION MGR. ALSO, THE PERSONNEL PARKING THE ACFT ONLY HAD ONE SET OF HAND WANDS. THE WING WALKER HAD NONE. (INCIDENT OCCURRED AT NIGHT.)
