Narrative:
While being vectored to a 5 mi final by patrick approach, we were given VFR traffic at 2 O'clock, heading east/northeast. We were turning final for runway 9R and the VFR traffic was at our right, 1000 ft low. At no time did patrick approach inform us the traffic was turning to a final for runway 9L (I don't think they knew). We had been cleared for the visual approach and the cessna traffic passed under us 500-800 ft setting off our TCASII with an RA ('monitor vertical speed'). We leveled off to allow the cessna to pass behind us, we then continued our approach. Although high at this point because of the leveloff, we elected to continue our approach for an uneventful landing. Tower seemed totally unaware of the conflict. Had we not seen the traffic or had TCASII, a much more serious situation may have arisen. Recommendations: better communications between patrick approach and mlb tower/approach.

Title: NMAC. TCASII. VFR TFC INTRUDED ON RPTR ACFT WITH APPARENT LACK OF COORD BTWN APCH CTLR AND TWR. EVASIVE MANEUVER REQUIRED.
Narrative: WHILE BEING VECTORED TO A 5 MI FINAL BY PATRICK APCH, WE WERE GIVEN VFR TFC AT 2 O'CLOCK, HDG E/NE. WE WERE TURNING FINAL FOR RWY 9R AND THE VFR TFC WAS AT OUR R, 1000 FT LOW. AT NO TIME DID PATRICK APCH INFORM US THE TFC WAS TURNING TO A FINAL FOR RWY 9L (I DON'T THINK THEY KNEW). WE HAD BEEN CLRED FOR THE VISUAL APCH AND THE CESSNA TFC PASSED UNDER US 500-800 FT SETTING OFF OUR TCASII WITH AN RA ('MONITOR VERT SPD'). WE LEVELED OFF TO ALLOW THE CESSNA TO PASS BEHIND US, WE THEN CONTINUED OUR APCH. ALTHOUGH HIGH AT THIS POINT BECAUSE OF THE LEVELOFF, WE ELECTED TO CONTINUE OUR APCH FOR AN UNEVENTFUL LNDG. TWR SEEMED TOTALLY UNAWARE OF THE CONFLICT. HAD WE NOT SEEN THE TFC OR HAD TCASII, A MUCH MORE SERIOUS SIT MAY HAVE ARISEN. RECOMMENDATIONS: BETTER COMS BTWN PATRICK APCH AND MLB TWR/APCH.
