Narrative:

We descended out of 7000 ft for 6000 ft. Captain was at the controls. We went through our altitude by 350 ft, 5650 ft before noticing as we were both looking for traffic that was displayed on our TCASII. We noticed the traffic climbing into our flight path although the controller had never warned us. After noticing and correcting our altitude (30-45 seconds) the controller said 'confirm your assigned altitude is 6000 ft.' we said yes (by this time we had re-leveled off). I don't think there was a conflict, however, I'm not sure since we weren't notified of the traffic to begin with.
