Narrative:
Busy traffic at 2 airports both under my control. I saw opportunity to fit BE58 in arrival sequence and tried to squeeze him in front of DH8. DH8 reported BE58 in sight but I never told DH8 to maintain visual separation. It was poor judgement on my part and incomplete application of procedures.
