Narrative:
We were cleared for takeoff on runway 18R. Just prior to that takeoff clearance at approximately XX09L a B757 was cleared for takeoff on runway 18L. Our takeoff was uneventful, but we did notice that we appeared closer than normal to the B757 that took off on runway 18L. We departed on the SID to the west and didn't think anything of it till the dfw tower around 3 hours later called us up to say there was controller training in progress and that the instructor tried to cancel our takeoff clearance. We notified the tower that we never received nor acknowledged a takeoff cancellation. We also notified them that we had the B757 in sight at all times. They said there was a separation problem.
