Narrative:
In descent to cross heatt intersection at 16000 ft MSL, the autoplt was engaged and not keeping adequate descent to comply with restr. I extended speed brakes until 16500 ft when I retracted the speed brakes. The autoplt continued the descent to 15500 ft when I disconnected the autoplt and manually returned the aircraft to 16000 ft. No apparent conflict and no comment from ATC controller.

Title: FLC OF AN MLG OVERSHOT ALT ON DSCNT DUE TO A PROB WITH THE AUTOPLT PRESELECT HOLD MODE.
Narrative: IN DSCNT TO CROSS HEATT INTXN AT 16000 FT MSL, THE AUTOPLT WAS ENGAGED AND NOT KEEPING ADEQUATE DSCNT TO COMPLY WITH RESTR. I EXTENDED SPD BRAKES UNTIL 16500 FT WHEN I RETRACTED THE SPD BRAKES. THE AUTOPLT CONTINUED THE DSCNT TO 15500 FT WHEN I DISCONNECTED THE AUTOPLT AND MANUALLY RETURNED THE ACFT TO 16000 FT. NO APPARENT CONFLICT AND NO COMMENT FROM ATC CTLR.
