Narrative:
Boi ground control cleared me from FBO to taxi to runway 10R and to cross runway 10L. I proceeded on taxiway a. I failed to note the runway 10L threshold and taxied on till I was in the middle of runway 10R at which time I cleared the runway to the south. I had cleared the final approach course but did not notice any runway signs. I had been busy with switches and checklist in a single pilot operation. I do take full responsibility for the runway incursion. However, I feel that the clearance to cross runway 10L is a little misleading in that you never actually cross the runway 10L runway -- just the extended centerline. Obviously I was distraction by the switchology in a single pilot cockpit. The WX was good and the traffic was very sparse. I try to be very conscientious but would have been better off with my eyes and head out of the cockpit.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: PVT TURBOPROP SMT ENTERS RWY 10R WITHOUT CLRNC.
Narrative: BOI GND CTL CLRED ME FROM FBO TO TAXI TO RWY 10R AND TO CROSS RWY 10L. I PROCEEDED ON TXWY A. I FAILED TO NOTE THE RWY 10L THRESHOLD AND TAXIED ON TILL I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF RWY 10R AT WHICH TIME I CLRED THE RWY TO THE S. I HAD CLRED THE FINAL APCH COURSE BUT DID NOT NOTICE ANY RWY SIGNS. I HAD BEEN BUSY WITH SWITCHES AND CHKLIST IN A SINGLE PLT OP. I DO TAKE FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE RWY INCURSION. HOWEVER, I FEEL THAT THE CLRNC TO CROSS RWY 10L IS A LITTLE MISLEADING IN THAT YOU NEVER ACTUALLY CROSS THE RWY 10L RWY -- JUST THE EXTENDED CTRLINE. OBVIOUSLY I WAS DISTR BY THE SWITCHOLOGY IN A SINGLE PLT COCKPIT. THE WX WAS GOOD AND THE TFC WAS VERY SPARSE. I TRY TO BE VERY CONSCIENTIOUS BUT WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER OFF WITH MY EYES AND HEAD OUT OF THE COCKPIT.
