Narrative:
On takeoff roll at approximately 120 KTS, a thump was felt with a slight left nose pull. An abort was initiated. Took the high speed exit. There were no cockpit indications. Light gray smoke in cockpit at the same time. We were informed of smoke coming out of the left engine by another aircraft. The decision was made to evacuate/evacuation. The evacuate/evacuation checklist was accomplished and crew members completed their responsibilities. All passenger and crew were evacuate/evacuationed and aircraft turned over to emergency personnel.

Title: AN ACR MD80 CAPT RPTS THAT HE HAD AN ACFT EQUIP PROB ENG FIRE ON TKOF ROLL. ABORTED TKOF.
Narrative: ON TKOF ROLL AT APPROX 120 KTS, A THUMP WAS FELT WITH A SLIGHT L NOSE PULL. AN ABORT WAS INITIATED. TOOK THE HIGH SPD EXIT. THERE WERE NO COCKPIT INDICATIONS. THE EVAC CHKLIST WAS ACCOMPLISHED AND CREW MEMBERS COMPLETED THEIR RESPONSIBILITIES. ALL PAX AND CREW WERE EVACED AND ACFT TURNED OVER TO EMER PERSONNEL.
