Narrative:
There was a large snowstorm that hit seattle on dec/fri- sun/96. All flts were delayed due to snow removal and deicing. My 3 day trip that began on dec/fri/96 was scheduled within far flight time and crew rest limits. Due to the extended delays after pushback in sea to get deiced and airborne, I flew over 8 hours in a 24 hour zulu period (8 hours 47 mins), and then without realizing I had done that, I flew another turn to reno without the extended crew rest required by FARS. The reno turn was part of my 3 day trip. I should have stopped flying in sea on dec/mon/96 and not taken the rno turn. My crew scheduling also missed the fact that I was illegal to fly the reno turn. Neither one of us did it intentionally. In the future, I will look at my total flying time a lot closer when I have extended delays due to WX or other reasons. Although it is no excuse, sea airport, dispatch, crew scheduling were all barely able to keep up with crews and aircraft scattered all over our system.

Title: AN ACR MLG FO BELIEVES THAT HE VIOLATED CREW DUTY FARS. HE IS WRONG.
Narrative: THERE WAS A LARGE SNOWSTORM THAT HIT SEATTLE ON DEC/FRI- SUN/96. ALL FLTS WERE DELAYED DUE TO SNOW REMOVAL AND DEICING. MY 3 DAY TRIP THAT BEGAN ON DEC/FRI/96 WAS SCHEDULED WITHIN FAR FLT TIME AND CREW REST LIMITS. DUE TO THE EXTENDED DELAYS AFTER PUSHBACK IN SEA TO GET DEICED AND AIRBORNE, I FLEW OVER 8 HRS IN A 24 HR ZULU PERIOD (8 HRS 47 MINS), AND THEN WITHOUT REALIZING I HAD DONE THAT, I FLEW ANOTHER TURN TO RENO WITHOUT THE EXTENDED CREW REST REQUIRED BY FARS. ALTHOUGH IT IS NO EXCUSE, SEA ARPT, DISPATCH, CREW SCHEDULING WERE ALL BARELY ABLE TO KEEP UP WITH CREWS AND ACFT SCATTERED ALL OVER OUR SYS.
