Narrative:
Location: ord/270/10. Captain overshot 5000 ft altitude clearance on departure. Was flying with autothrottle disconnected and chose to reset altimeter between 4000 ft and 5000 ft. I had just been given a frequency change and during check-in reported passing 4000 ft for 5000 ft. Captain apparently missed my call and went through 5400 ft. Supplemental information from acn 361681: departing ord with captain hand flying we were cleared to level off at 5000 ft but went through by 400 ft. Corrected back and no apparent conflict, though the controller noticed as we were returning to 5000 ft. Several turns and frequency changes contributed to my inattention but I will be more careful in future.

Narrative: LOCATION: ORD/270/10. CAPT OVERSHOT 5000 FT ALT CLRNC ON DEP. WAS FLYING WITH AUTOTHROTTLE DISCONNECTED AND CHOSE TO RESET ALTIMETER BTWN 4000 FT AND 5000 FT. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 361681: DEPARTING ORD WITH CAPT HAND FLYING WE WERE CLRED TO LEVEL OFF AT 5000 FT BUT WENT THROUGH BY 400 FT. CORRECTED BACK AND NO APPARENT CONFLICT, THOUGH THE CTLR NOTICED AS WE WERE RETURNING TO 5000 FT. SEVERAL TURNS AND FREQ CHANGES CONTRIBUTED TO MY INATTENTION BUT I WILL BE MORE CAREFUL IN FUTURE.
