Narrative:

ZDV, frequency 127.55 was busy. The controller was constantly talking on our frequency and at least one other. Split frequencys are becoming a problem. Traffic on our frequency cannot hear traffic on another, and as a consequence, we are stepping all over each other. Our flight had requested information from the controller on 127.55 who replied 'standby, get right back to you.' never did. Repeated requests finally got our information. If the controllers are this busy, they have no business working more than 1 frequency. The service we got from ATC on this day was poor. I believe it was because of 1 controller working multiple frequencys and was overloaded.
