Narrative:
Due to misleading ground markings (taxiway letters) and low visibility due to rain, we almost missed a taxi instruction. Hopefully we saw the runway signs and stopped and joined the proper taxiway. Ground markings for taxiway Q leads to believe taxiway Q is straight ahead but after the ground marking to taxiway Q, a left turn must be made. The large amount of taxiway yellow lines does not help. Reduced visibility made it worse but the red runway sign saved the day. We did not see any hold short (runway) lines.
